Make Saving Money Fun
To most people, saving money is the last thing from fun. It is something that most people don’t even want to think about. But it is also a chore that needs to be done to keep you on track financially.
Since saving money is something you need to do, why not try to make it fun to help you stay motivated to keep it up.
Try some of these tips keep things interesting and fun.
Make saving a competition
Challenge your spouse, other family members or friends to a savings competition. No one likes to lose right? So this is a great way to get everyone motivated to save as much as possible.
Find ways to have frugal fun
There are a ton of free and fun activities all around that don’t cost you a penny. Make it goal to find a few free activities a week that can replace some of the activities that you do regularly that do cost you money.
Create a visual of your savings
Visual reminders are a great way to stay on task with your goals. Try creating a savings thermometer to track the amount of money you’ve saved each week. Fill in the thermometer with a different color at the end of every week and watch your savings grow.
Make finding way to save a game
Get everyone in the household on board and make a game out of finding creative ways to save money. You can treat the person who finds the way to save the most with a non-monetary prize, such as no dishes for a week, to keep everyone motivated.
Find a frugal savings buddy
Find a friend or a group of friends that are frugal minded and get together once a week or so to encourage each other. Swap money savings tips and ideas. You could also create weekly challenges to keep everyone motivated to keep on saving.
There are plenty of ways that you can do to make saving money fun. You just need to think outside the box and get creative about it.
